Shot #10 : Bootstrapbay: From 0 to $150K revenue in 2.5 yrs

I read a case study on Bootstrapbay in the book Promotions by Aladdin Happy

Bootstrapbay is a marketplace for website themes/templates built on bootstrap framework. They went from 0 to 100k website visitors within 3 months of their launch. And, from 0 to $150K revenue in 2.5 yrs.

So, how did they do it?

1. Researched on their primary keyword “Bootstrap Template” to check if there’s a decent number of searches happening. Based on Google Keyword Planner analysis "Bootstrap templates" generated 10K-100K monthly searches, which gave a green signal to the team.

2. Developed their marketplace website and started reaching out to developers selling on other marketplaces. Invited them to list their themes on Bootstrapbay.

3. Started publishing high quality articles related to bootstrap framework and distributed them on community platforms like DesignerNews, Reddit, Quora, etc. They also notified anyone they mentioned in the post.

Result: Within 3 months it resulted into 100K visitors to their website.

4. Started an affiliate program (10% commission per sale)

Results:

-Affiliates generated $37,500 in sales
-Backlinks from affiliate sites improved their SEO

Overall results after 2.5 years:

1. Sold over 10,000 themes.

2. Generated over $150,000 in revenue.

3. Website traffic grew to 350,000+ monthly views.
