Shot #132: This Campaign Brought Sunshine to the City | Marketing Shots
Hello, awesome marketers and founders.
This is Luv, and here’s your weekly Marketing Shot :)
(Delivered every Tuesday)
The tall buildings often block out the sunlight in cities.
Minute Maid, the brand that's all about bringing a touch of nature into our daily lives, saw this and decided to do a campaign.
Their campaign wasn't just about promoting their drinks – it was about making sure city folks could get some sunlight, even if it were just while walking down the street.
Here’s what they did:
The Open Billboard:
Billboards usually block out what little people might get.
Minute Maid turned that around with their Open Billboard, which was essentially an empty frame.
By cutting out the middle, they allowed the sun to shine right through.
It was a simple idea that made a big difference, letting people soak up some rays instead of standing in the shadows.
2. The Reflective Billboard:
In cities, many areas are stuck in the shadow of big buildings.
Minute Maid addressed this with their Reflective Billboard, designed to redirect sunlight into those darker spaces.
By reflecting the sun into these dim corners, they brought a little extra brightness to areas that were usually left in the shade.
3. The Extended Shelter:
Waiting for the bus wasn’t usually the highlight of anyone’s day, but Minute Maid made it a bit brighter.
They extended bus shelters so passengers could sit outside the shade and catch some sunlight while waiting.
It was a small change, but it turned a dull wait into a chance to soak up some Vitamin D.
